My story begins one day in a country area of North East Texas, where a heavily pregnant woman drove 30 miles to the nearest cinema to see Superman fly. Despite the fact she had to pee every 5 minutes and could barely roll in and out of the car on her own, she refused to miss Christopher Reeve making his first appearance as the man of steel. I was born a couple of months later to a woman who would always encourage my love for film.
Today I live in my mother's native country of Australia where I have been since 1996.
So how did this blog come about? I obsessed over movies so much that I decided, instead of annoying all my friends and family so much, I'd let it all out on a blog and have been doing so since 2007. My background includes writing for other websites, newspapers and reviewing films on radio since 2002. I’m also an experienced interviewer and love meeting the people who make the movies I adore. I now record a podcast for Edge Radio, All Star Cast.
For those of you interested in my personal life I have a relatively boring 9-5 job that sometimes incorporates my skill and background in both journalism and graphic design (now freelancing – see my blog/twitter logos for an example). I love to play Xbox in my spare time (FPS mostly – Halo, COD).
I also love to read and am at any given time reading at least one novel. I will read almost anything. I have a very vivid imagination and live in what my better half likes to call "Jenniland" most of the time.
I spend 2 nights a week learning the martial arts Hapkido and Gong Kwon Yusul. The former a traditional art from Korea, the latter a young street-fighting style based in tradition and polished with modernity.
In 2009 I hope to move over to my new website, write tons more reviews, record an obscene amount of podcasts and maybe even see a premiere or two. Here's hoping!
